Deadly Avenger - Black Sun

Black Sun comes backed with remixes from Deadly's studio partner Sie Medway-Smith (Pussyfoot) and the mysterious Barry Planets.
This is the third and final single to be taken from 'Deep Red', following on from 'Punisher / Day One' and 'We Took Pelham'.
The 12" is packaged in a deluxe fold out sleeve, in the same style as the first two, making them into a highly collectable set.
The success and acclaim piled onto his debut album 'Deep Red' has seen Deadly's reputation as a quality producer taken to a whole new level.
The original mix of 'Black Sun' is in demand with film and TV music supervisors and has even gained the approval of John Carpenter who is sampled in the track.

Reviews

DJ

Pretty sturdy selection of beats and bass from the Deadly Avenger whose tact this time seems to be drop the organics and strip down to the analogue essentials. Joined by Sie and the mysterious Barry Planet, all three play with themes that crosshatch between arpeggio-led electronica, filthy dirge like downbeat and the distant cousin of melodic electro. Who's on top? Well, pretty much a tie really, and a bit of a treat for lovers of Dabrye and sci-fi minimalism. 3/5

Jockey Slut

Bloody Marvellous. This is rocking, righteous, latterday electro with enough attitude to get your granny on the good foot, and all those it's-not-Davy DMX-Tyrone Brunson-or-Newcleus twats off their old school arses and onto the floor. Eclectic mixes come fresh from Pussyfoot's Sie and some unknown hero called Barry Planets.
