Description
The Biffters - Remember
The Biffters are Deat Marotta and Andy Tex Jones.
Andy is one half of Pussy 2000, the successful remix team and bootleggers recently signed to FFrr, London. Andy started DJing in 1989 in England and began playing in Germany in 1994. Since then he has taken his music all over Europe, mixed various House compilations and released music on VC Recordings and Whoop Records.
Together with the other Pussy, Steve Travell, Andy formed SPACEFUNK RECORDINGS earlier this year.
Deat was born in Vienna and moved to Germany as a child. He began playing guitar at the age of 14 and later studied music and taught classical and rock guitar. Deat played in various German rock bands in the eighties and in the beginning of the nineties he turned his skills to DJing and writing electronic music. Over the years Deat has built his own studio where he produces soundtracks and postproduction for commercial videos and his own brand of deep/tech House.
Andy and Deat first met in 1994 as DJs playing regularly on the German Club circuit. With gigs together in Ibiza, Mallorca, Holland and Belgium, a style of music emerged fusing influences from 70´s rock and funk through 80´s electronica into early House. The two DJs also share a love of deep House music. It was not until 1999 that Andy and Deat started producing together. The result is "The Biffters", a voyage into the depths of dance, embracing the spectrum of Balearic sounds, Benelux progressive beats and British club grooves, all soaked in the smokey haze of summer.
The first release is "Remember", an EP of four versions in various shades of deepness. Featuring the vocal debut from Biff Bifford (ex member of seventh heaventeen) with funky beats, tripped out filtered synths and chilled atmospheres, this is aimed straight for the terrace at space or Salinas beach.

Reviews
BuzzA beauty from a label you'll be hearing a lot from this year, Spacefunk. This Garage/house track. It is no commercial chart anthem; it comes as four dubby remixes each individual to itself. No chart stormer but still not to be missed, after playing it out it's a belter. 3/5

For full-on peak-time funky house beats, 'Remember' is as good as it gets. Shuffling rhythms and a simple hypnotic riff do the damage, whilst the repeated vocal gives battered minds something to cling on to. There are a couple of stunning mixes to choose from, giving everyone from David Morales to Digs and Whoosh something to get them going. Look out for this one.
Music Week
This cool, deep house cut is an unlikely cover of a Heaven 17 tune. Already in MW's Cool Cuts chart, with airplay this could well cross over.
