Those boys behind the massive Pussy 2000 records of the summer bring you the first release on their brand new label, Spacefunk Recordings. The label will bring you the best in pure club music for impure club people. Any style will do, so long as it rocks the house!

Recently discovered by the Pussy crew in Germany, Beatmaniac (Alex Kirch) has been writing and producing hip-hop over the last five years, working recently with rapper Bi$kid. During the course of ’99 he has taken the hip-hop influence, mixed it with the energy of ‘big beat’, and injected the funk of house to create the Beatmaniac sound. Avoiding the big beat cliché, he has created a supercharged dancefloor fusion with a European flavour that will rock any club.

“Funkin Town” is the first Beatmaniac single. Featuring vocals from Bi$kid, this tune showcases their combined talents with it’s homage to the natural home of their music – New York City. With an album already in the bag, expect to hear more sides to the Beatmaniac sound over the coming months.

As well as the original mix, included here are three Pussy 2000 reworkings. After rocking clubs all over Europe with their Pussy Pink & Blue records, the Pussy crew have been remixing all and sundry. Their mixes of Phats & Small’s “Tonite” and Robbie Rivera’s “First the Groove” have caused nearly as much fuss as their own releases and that’s before their latest mystery cut-ups even reach your box.

The main Pussy 2000 mix featured here is guaranteed to blow the roof off, while the dubs bring you another slice of Pussy that will work on different floors for different moods.
