Description
Meccaheadz - Night Skool
Q/ What Does It Take To Be A Hip DJ?
A/ Well, first you have to know that the discs that DJ’s spin aren’t compact discs, they’re old fashioned records. And DJ stands for Disc Jockey. For a hip DJ one of the first decisions is picking which music to start with…
MECCAHEADZ are the result of a collaboration between much respected house producer Bryan Robson (Supernature, Solaris Heights and East Village Headz), and northern soul/funk/rare groove DJ
Peter James (resident at Perfect in Carlisle and Newcastle’s Nice). Freakin’ was the well received debut, and now comes Night Skool - with a vocal line from the evening class that we wish we all had attended!
You may remember this track from late last year when it did some major dancefloor damage, from the coolest, to the most commercial Dj’s up-and-down the U.K. Due to increasing demand it’s now been remixed and reworked.

Reviews
DJEvery so often you hear a track you know is crap but can't help liking it. This is one of those. Based around a prim lesson in DJing, it brings to mind the more commercial bootlegs of 'Gym Tonic'. It's never going to find it's way into Louie Vega's box but DJs like Judge Jules could have a lot of fun with it. 3/5
Fluid
The collaboration of DJ Peter James Duncan and producer Bryan J Robson seems to read like an out-take from the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Under the guise of Meccaheadz, they released a successful single back in '88, and have now re-emerged with their latest production - the very cool and quirky 'Night Skool'. Thsi track could easily pass over to a brilliant workout video. It could be an intelligent 5678 Steps! It's extremely listenable in every sense, and the novelty factor can only enhance and perhaps guarantee this gem a big hit, otherwise it might disappear up it's own arse!
Ministry
'And the DJ stands for Disc Jockey'. No shit, Sherlock! Dig out your old skool ties and kneesocks, Meccaheadz will positively educate you with their funked-up lesson in cool cuts. The only apple for this teacher comes in tablet form, so clap your hands or get a caning.
Wax
Already featuring extensively on most major house jocks play lists, it should find it's way onto your record shopping list almost as easily. What makes the difference is the rock solid bottom end, pumpin' away like Johnny Fartpants in his prime, leaving a void, filled with tough bass and spoken word speeches, extolling the virtues of record production. As straight catchy house goes it's purer than the driven snow. Big on the floor, larger than life!
