Various Artists - Outerspacefunk One
Founded by Pussy2000 Spacefunk is now a year old. "outerspacefunk" is a series of EP’s "out of spacefunk". All feature previously unreleased mixes or totally new tracks. Some due for a full release, others totally exclusive to the "outerspacefunk" EP’s only! The reason for these EP’s ? not just to release cool dance music but to give new artists an opportunity to release their music. This is the First session.
AERIC BOLEX “WALDMEISTER”
Aeric Bolex in real life is Ernst Wawra, the underground All-star from Aachen, Germany (Aken/ Aix-la-Chapelle), or, to be precise, Bad Aachen. A producer since the age of 15, under many different names he first took to breakbeat, then in 97 drum n’ bass. “Kommissa” (nostalgic in its time) involved Aeric, DJ Coma, Rawkus and famous human-beat-boxer Stevie B) it blew up huge. Things really got rolling for Ernst then he signed as Aeric to Hamburg's Ladomat2000 to present his definition of minimal or rather artistically sublimed House music. His first Ladomat single "Toute Facon" made history, not at least with the famous lo-tech video clip featuring a headless woman, a refrigerator and lots of looping (Aeric filmed the clip on his dubbel-8mm-BOLEX-filmcamera and he cut the clip together with Mao, who is also his musical partner. As Aeric Bolex, Ernst is acting out his definition of "Contemporary Funk" with "Waldmeister", the first of his personal contributions to spacefunk, he lets House and Funk compliment each other in a deep slinky trip into house music.
THE BIFFTERS “THE BIFF”
The Biffters are Liverpool producer / DJ Andy Tex Jones alias one half of top house producers pussy 2000 and Austrian long time DJ / artist Deat Marotta. The Biffters began their voyage into the depths of dance last year with a debut release for spacefunk, an ibiza 2000 favourite entitled "remember". A classic on the island of fun that went on to feature on Defected Records Roger Sanchez Defected Session's CD. "TheBiff" features a banging freaky groove, harder and more tech edged than their previous releases. Expect a new wave of Biffter Mewsiq this summer on spacefunk.
LADEEKILLAS “THE LADEEZROOM”
Professor Marcus and Major Courtney are two ex-Bank robbers from Ealing claiming to be musicians who can write cheeky chewns. Recorded in their bedsit, despite protests from their Landlady, Marcus & Courtney masterminded their criminal record with the help of a Mr Robinson.
SUPERDANGDELUX “AMBIENTDANCER”
SBD are the pussy boys and German DJ martin sinken. Early releases featured on distinctive breaks and large club records. Usually a deeper chilled out filter sound. Ambient Dancer is a special ambient remix of Alnight Dancer. Another forthcoming spacefunk groove.

Reviews
DJChic's 'Soup For One', better known as the sample tp Modjo's 'Lady', makes a swift reappearance on the Ladekillas' 'The Ladeezroom', on Spacefunk, from the 'Outerspacefunk1' EP. Filtered in-and-out of the mix with distorted vocals from Bob Sinclair's 'I Feel For You', the combination is an essential catalyst of sample creativeness that's full of the feet on floors factor.

Pussy 2000 are really quite special. Since going legit after some stunning bootlegs, they seem to have ploughed much of their time into their record label, Spacefunk. To celebrate the fact it is a year old they have put together two 12"s of exclusive tracks and mixes. With eight to choose from it's difficult to pull out key tracks, but special mentions must go to the Modjo-mangling Ladeekillas track, Alex Bolex stuttered disco grooves and Khetama's well aimed, tech-house bouncer. All the tunes are top notch, incorporating a range of genres, making this a great showcase for the label.
