Various Artists - Outerspacefunk Three
Founded by Pussy2000 last April, the Spacefunk label is moving up the gears in its second year. Outerspacefunk is a series of EP’s, well, out of Spacefunk. All the EPs feature previously unreleased mixes or totally new tracks. Some are due for a full release, whilst others totally exclusive to the Outerspacefunk EP series. The reason for these EP’s? Not just to release cool dance music but to give exciting artists from Europe an opportunity to release their music in the UK. This is the Third session.
A1 – KHETAMA “ORGASM”
Khetama are DJ Stefan Reimer and partner Frank Thelen. Resident in Docklands (one of the biggest clubs in Germany) Khetama started production six years ago and have steadily built support for their deep house sound from premier DJ’s like Sneak and Derrick Carter. “Orgasm” is Khetama’s second deep house track for Outerspacefunk.
A2 – SUPERBANGDELUXE ”BABY YOU GOT IT”
SBD are German DJ Martin Sinken and the boys from Pussy 2000. Early releases featured on the Distinctive Breaks and Large Club records. Expect to hear new Pussy 2000 tunes on Distinctive and Spacefunk very soon. Whilst SBD is usually a deeper chilled-out filter sound this second track for Outerspacefunk is a tough and funky Pussy 2000 dub.
B1 – THE BEATMANIAC “QUALIFIED TO DO ANYTHING”
The Beatmaniac’s "Where Do I Go From Here?" on Spacefunk rocked clubs earlier this year and is currently being remixed and is due for a full release by Neo Records soon. This tune is typical of The Beatmaniac style; blockrocking breaks, crazy scratching, a killer b – line and a really fucking mad cheeky vocal.
B2 – FUNKZENTRALE “SAX TRAIN”
Responsible individual number one and perfectly sensible guy number two. Former taxi drivers turned DJ / producers turned out this stomping groove. Hard twisted house with a catchy sax riff and wacky vocal drops.

DJIf you want value for money then Pussy 2000's on-it label are currently supplying the goods at all the right prices. Four more tracks that pretty much stand up on their own, one track especially makes this worth the admission price. Khetama's funky, jackin' 'Orgasm' is one of the sexiest tracks of the summer, with a saucy male and female Q&A session, some nagging high-end 303s and a slapped bass bonding together for a stripped track that falls somewhere between Derrick Carter and DJ Sneak. Elsewhere, Superbangdeluxe deliver a Pussy 2000-style bouncy filter number that should keep Spacefunk fans happy. What value! 5/5
