Dynamo Productions combines the talents of Andy Smith (Portishead DJ) and Scott Hendy (Boca45). With a penchant for old soul, hip hop, breakbeat and funk and impeccable DJ skills.

For their forthcoming 12’on Illicit they have asked their friends to remix some of the highlights from their “Analogue” LP released in March this year…

The Jimi Entley Sound is a long forgotten beat group from the late 1960s who were a familiar sight in West Country holiday camps. Back in 1969, Jimi (band leader) got together enough cash to record a wah wah driven version of The Shadow’s classic 'Apache' at Abbey Road Studios London. Sadly the track failed to make much of an impression on the hit parade and the J.E.S disappeared, never to be heard again until legendary Espionage DJ, Fat Paul discovered an Abbey Road test pressing at a West Country record fair. He released the version of 'Apache' on his Espionage Disk label as a limited 45. The Dynamo duo Scott and Andy loved the Espionage 45 so much they tracked Jimi down to do a remix of their hip hop track with MC Profile, 'Back to Basics'. Geoff Barrow, of Portishead fame, loved the idea of a psych, funk, Hip Hop combo' so much that he asked if he could produce it. As Dynamo Productions rate Geoff as one of the all time great producers how could they say no?

Other remixes come courtesy of Brightons own Krafty Kuts who has made a one off collaboration with The Mexican especially for this project, Bristol sound-system stalwarts One Cut and new Aussie contender Katalyst.
