Description
Dynamo Productions - Showtime Vol. III
Dynamo Productions combines the talents of Andy Smith (former Portishead DJ) and Scott Hendy (Boca45). With a penchant for old soul, hip hop, breakbeat and funk and impeccable DJ skills, they have formed a duo worthy of press and public attention.
'Showtime Vol. III' is the final instalment of the Showtime series of EPs on Illicit Recordings. All the EPs showcasing what Dynamo do best. – an outstanding mix of sublime instrumentals alongside blockrocking hip hop beats and scratch laden cut ups. 'Get it together' is in the tradition of previous Dynamo Cut up floor fillers while 'Sonar Sound' features bass by the mysterious 'Fuzz Face', who was last heard remixing 'She Said' by The Pharcyde.
'Back to Basics' features San Diego based MC 'Profile' from ex Hip Hop crew 'The Sound Providers' who have previously recorded for ABB records (home of Dilated Peoples). Profile has now embarked on a solo career with US independant label 'Fifth Element' and took the time to contribute' 2 tracks for the forthcoming Dynamo Productions LP 'Analogue' due out 17 March. These tracks will also appear on Profiles US LP featuring other collaborations with Pete Rock, Grap Luva, DJ Design (Stones Throw) and others.
'Breaking a Channel' is a chilled out affair to end a 'well rounded' E.P
Once again the tracks are interspersed with looney skits acknowledging the early work of Prince Paul.
